The client required all electrical equipment be tested prior to the commercial premises being opened to the public. This meant all lighting, electrical appliances, and power sources be identified, tested and correctly labelled.
PAT Testing
Nu-Tech’s team of expert electricians undertook a complete PAT (portable appliance testing) assessment.
A comprehensive list was formed, containing each individual portable appliance that had been tested, each being graded with either a pass or fail.
Items that received a fail grade were to be rectified immediately, this was vital in avoiding delays and ensuring the business’ opening occurred on schedule.
EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report)
An EICR describes a test that assesses the safety and condition of all electrical installations within a property.
The EICR undertaken at the commercial premises in Cardiff was rather lengthy due to the substantial size of the property. Nu-Tech’s electricians were able to complete the report within a two-day time frame.
Following the inspection/report, the client was provided with an EICR certificate and specified with the next EICR due date.
Compliance
Care was taken to ensure the electrical testing was compliant with current regulations and legislations.
Both the EICR and PAT test were undertaken in conjunction with British Wiring Regulations (BS 7617) and the Electricity at Work Regulations (1989).
Nu-Tech Electrical are NICEIC qualified electrical contractors.
The outcome
Nu-Tech Electrical worked tirelessly to complete this project on schedule with the client’s pressing time frame.
The client was extremely satisfied by the team’s excellent work ethic and as a result Nu-Tech were awarded the contract for future electrical testing requirements.
